چکیده

Introduction: Myocardial noncompaction is thought to be a rare genetic disorder of myocardial morphogenesis. Case Report: We report the case of a 22yearold male with left ventricular noncompaction, bicuspid aortic valve and ascending aortic dilation. We discuss the genetic basis of myocardial noncompaction and potential etiologies that manifest in hyper trabeculated myocardium in the presence or absence of extracardiac abnormalities. Conclusion: Myocardial noncompaction is a rare genetic disorder thought to arise from disruption of normal organogenesis during development. Many genetic abnormalities have been associated with myocardial non compaction. Recent research prompts the question of whether various genetic mutations exert their effect via a common pathway which manifest in similar morphological findings.

Bicuspid Aortic Valve: An Unusual Cause of Aneurysm of Left Coronary Sinus of Valsalva

Bicuspid aortic valve is traditionally considered an innocuous congenital anomaly. Due to a better and widespread availability of non-invasive imaging techniques, it has come to the fore that 30% of these cases develop complications, viz., valve abnormality (aortic regurgitation and stenosis), and aneurysm of aortic root and ascending aorta. Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is an uncommon complicatio...

گزارش 3 بیمار مبتلا به تونل آئورت به بطن چپ

Aorto-left ventricular tunnel (ALVT) is a rare congenital anomaly in which an abnormal communication connects the ascending aorta with the left ventricle, that results volume overload on left ventricle. It is clinically undistinguishable from aortic insufficiency. Its prompt and precise diagnosis is crucial since early surgical treatment is definitely indicated. In this report clinical,...

The diagnosis of a non-stenotic bicuspid aortic valve.

Follow-up of a group of subjects in whom an aortic ejection sound was the only abnormal finding revealed a bicuspid aortic valve at necropsy or operation in 6 cases. High speed echophonocardiographic studies in 15 subjects with aortic stenosis and known to have bicuspid valves, showed the ejection sound to be exactly synchronous with final halting of the opening aortic valve cusps. Echocardiogr...
